Are you able to identify which type of aircraft the attached clock would have been used in. (I have been told a Spitfire)? The following identity numbers are on the back.
Serial Number 3146/54
Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
I will be visiting London next month and, as I have become fascinated with the American Eagle Squadrons, I would like to know if there are any museums or other venues which commemorate these brave souls.
I'm an ex Boy Entrant , 29th Entry Cosford 1956/58. I like many of the lads who are members of the RAF Boy Entrants Ass. have searched high and low , to see if we can get our own coloured Sqn. Hat bands.
Mine was Green/Blue.
They all had to be handed in on graduation from the Boys service when issued with the standard black band. Presumably for other new recruits. I personally have searched the internet and Army/Navy stores near and wide to find out if I can buy one, without success. The same applies to the B/E wheel.
Any Ideas how I can get hold of one?
One wonders what happened to all these items?
