RAF Oulton Museum, Blickling Hall, Norfolk
This tiny musuem is tucked away in a courtyard at the National Trust's Blickling Hall (above) in Norfolk, a few miles north of the market town of Aylsham.
Blickling Hall is a Jacobean era stately home and gardens, once belonging to the Boelyn family. During WWII the house became billets for aircrew from nearby RAF Oulton.
RAF Oulton was a Bomber Command sattelite station of RAF Horsham St Faith which was just north of Norwich (now home to Norwich International Airport and the CNAM). Bristol Blenheims of No. 114 Squadron were based at Oulton from August 1940.
 The museum, which is situated in a tiny building in the courtyard, just outside the main house and garden, is a memorial to the servicemen who were stationed at the base during the Second World War. It has a collection of photographs, memrobillia including uniform items and a small collection of model aircraft.
Adjacent to the musuem, across the courtyard is the Blickling secondhand bookshop which has quite a large aviation and military section.
The Buckinghamshire Arms situated between the car park and the main entrance serves excellent lunches.

Directions: From Norwich take the A140 Cromer Road to Alysham. From Alysham take the B1354 Blickling Road, the car park is situated a few hundred yards past the main house entrance on the right.
