Gyrocopter addition at Newark

The latest addition to Newark Air Museum's growing collection of civilian airframes was collected from the north-west of England and delivered to the museum's Winthorpe Showground on site on April 20, 2009.

Bensen B.8M gyrocopter G-ASNY [RCA.203] has been placed on permanent loan at the museum and will be reassembled and displayed in a small pocket of space in Display Hangar 2. Built by Campbell Aircraft Limited G-ASNY was first registered in August 1967 and the gyrocopter had been in storage since being deregistered in 1991.

The airframe is complete and is the first gyrocopter to be displayed at Newark and fulfils one of the museum's collecting themes of: "airframes flown privately and significant to the development of the type".
