Radio controlled aircraft to dispaly at the FAA model show

Record numbers of model aircraft enthusiasts are anticipated at the Fleet Air Arm Museum’s Autumn Model Show on October 23rd to see the British Model Flying Association’s spectacular display of radio controlled aircraft.

Although the flying line up for this year has yet to be confirmed, previous years have seen international prize winners flying their stunt helicopters, spitfires and even a jet powered Concorde.

The Fleet Air Arm Museum hosts two model aircraft shows each year. In February, the show is biased towards plastic models whereas the October show is biased towards radio controlled models.

Throughout the museum, over eighty traders and clubs from all over the UK will be present to offer unusual retail opportunities and advise on modelling techniques.

If you are wondering what to do with the children over the autumn half term, then the Fleet Air Arm Museum’s Autumn Model Show could be just what you are looking for.

There will be a range of workshops including an Airfix ‘Make and Paint’ workshop and competitions for the under 16s with generous, prizes sponsored by Airfix.

In addition to the Model Show, you will see the largest collection of Naval aircraft anywhere in Europe.

You will have the opportunity of going on-board the first British built Concorde and a simulated helicopter flight will take you to the replica flight deck of the aircraft carrier HMS ARK ROYAL where you’ll experience the thrills and sounds of a working flight deck and even see a nuclear bomb!
