Duxford's Air Show season dates announced

The 2010 Air Show programme will be even more significant as IWM Duxford pays tribute to the Battle of Britain, 70 years after this momentous event.

The Spring Air Show on 15 and 16 May opens the flying season, launching IWM Duxford's programme of events for the Battle of Britain anniversary and showcasing the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Following in July is one of the most celebrated air shows of the season, Flying Legends (10-11 July).

In September, the Battle of Britain Air Show (4-5 September) will commemorate the strategic air battle and will focus on the pilots and aircraft who became synonymous with this battle, many of whom were stationed at RAF Duxford. To close the season the Autumn Air Show on 10 October will provide a fitting end to a blockbuster year.

Tickets will be available online and by telephone shortly. To keep up to date visit 2010 Air Shows.

Alongside the Battle of Britain, other defining moments of 1940, the year Britain stood alone, will be marked with events across our five branches. In May a website will bring together the anniversary programme with items and stories from our Collections - updates to follow in 2010.
