Tangmere's Phantom nears completion

Tangmere Military Aviation Museum's Phantom FGR2 (XV408) was repainted last year prior to its representation as a Phantom from 29 Squadron as flown in the 1980s.

A team from 29 Squadron, led by the Chief Technican of the Eurofighter display team 2009, visited the Museum in April to fit Sidewinder missiles and appropriate decals - moving its external presentation closer to completion.

Photo above shows newly installed missiles and applied decals. Two Skyflash missiles and two drop tanks are still to be fitted and are expected early this Summer, but work continues to find instruments for the cockpit.
