MiG's take centre stage at Newark Nightshoot

The recently repainted two former Soviet Air Force MiG jet fighter bombers were some of the key airframes use in Newark Air Museum’s most recent Day / Night Photo Event on Saturday 17th October 2009.

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23 and MiG-27 “Flogger” formed the centre pieces of several photo opportunities that featured members of the Crusader 80 – British Army of the Rhine Living History Group. One of these featured the internment of a defecting MiG-27 pilot and the camouflaging of the airframe.

A range of other museum aircraft were also utilised including the recently restored de Havilland Dove, G-AHRI, which now wears the markings of its original operator the Iraq Petroleum Transport Company.
